MSU Mobility to Participate in AutoMobiliD, Sept. 14-15
What: MSU will highlight its latest mobility research initiatives and activities as part of AutoMobili-D during the return of the North American International Auto Show. The Adastec bus will be inside the booth. Technology displays and presentations will include machine learning algorithms for object detection, sensor fusion, and agent-based modeling. Sensor spoofing is also discussed. Additionally, there will be an interactive game that simulates the way autonomous vehicles sense movement and how people will interact with these types of vehicles, with the screen demonstrating pedestrians crossing the street.
MSU will also host student teams for the Solar Car and for NASA drones.
MSU Mobility is exhibiting as part of University Research Corridor (URC), which is a cluster of three public institutions including MSU, the University of Michigan and Wayne State University.
When: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 and Thursday, Sept. 15
Where: The URC will have four total booths (UCS 750 through UCS 756) thanks to a sponsorship from Magna at AutoMobili-D.
Who: MSU graduate students and many mobility-focused faculty members, including Satish Udpa, Interim Director of MSU Mobility and University Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering.
Panel participation: In addition to the booth experience, Satish Udpa will participate in a 30-minute URC panel discussion at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the AutoMobili-D stage. Panelists will discuss Innovation and talent solutions to global challenges. The session will be moderated by Carol Cain, Senior Producer & Host of “Michigan Matters” with CBS Detroit.
